글 / 유엔저널 논설위원 우종철 | 전쟁은 예고 없이 오는 법이다. 2023년 10월 7일 팔레스타인 무장단체 하마스의 공습으로 이스라엘이 전쟁을 선포하고 반격에 나서면서 양측의 유혈 충돌은 극한으로 치닫고 있다. 공휴일 새벽에 허를 찌른 대규모 공습을 이스라엘 정보기관 모사드는 물론 미국 중앙정보국(CIA)도 이를 사전에 감지하지 못한 것으로 드러났다. 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁에 이어 전면전으로 치닫는 이-팔 충돌은 중동을 넘어 글로벌 안보 지형을 흔들고 있다. 미국의 전선이 유럽에 이어 중동으로까지 분산되면 아시아에 대한 안보 집중도가 떨어질 수 있다. 만약 중국이 대만을 병합하려 든다면 북한이 오판할 수 있는 상황이 조성된다. 하마스의 공습은 핵무기나 탄도미사일뿐 아니라 재래식 전력만으로 국가안보를 뒤흔들 수 있음을 보여준다. 북한은 하마스와 보다 월등한 대규모 포격 전력을 갖췄다. 정부와 군 당국은 정찰자산을 총동원해 북한의 1000문 이상의 장사정포와 20만 명 규모의 특수작전부대 등에 맞설 대비책 강화와 요격체계 개발에 속도를 내야 한다. 해전海戰하면 충무공 이순신을 떠올린다. 그러나 충무공 이전에 왜倭로부터 우리 바다를 지킨 장군이 바로 6세기 신

대한민국 소식 정용근 전 대전경찰청장, 22대 총선 충주 출마 선언
유엔저널 이존영 기자 | 지난 14일 정용근 전 대전경찰청장(58)이 충북 충주에서 내년 총선 출마를 공식적으로 선언했다. 정용근 전 청장은 충주시청 브리핑룸에서 기자회견을 열어 뜨거운 열정과 겸허한 마음으로 22대 국회의원 선거에 출마를 결심 했다고 밝혔다. 정 청장은 "청와대와 국무총리실에서 근무한 국정 경험과 인맥으로 충주도약을 끌어갈 준비가 돼 있다"며 "역동적 대한민국과 활기찬 충주 미래를 위해 출마를 결심했다"고 고 말했다. 그러면서 "다른 후보들과 열정의 차이를 보여주겠다"면서 "정치가 국민의 삶을 먼저 챙기는 희망과 포용, 통합과 민생정치를 말이 아닌 행동으로 실천하겠다"고 강조했다. 그는 1965년 충주시 용탄동에서 태어나 목행초교, 충주중, 충주고를 거쳐 경찰대학(3기)을 졸업했다. 이후 음성경찰서장, 충북경찰청장, 경찰청 교통국장, 대전경찰청장을 지냈다. 지난 12일 예비후보로 등록했다.

대한민국 소식 이천시 "반도체 전문인재 양성 선도한다"
이천시(시장 김경희)가 미래신산업 반도체 인재 양성에 박차를 가하고 있다. 2024학년도부터 이천제일고등학교에 반도체 계약학과가 신설돼, 반도체 현장 맞춤형 전문인재 양성을 시작할 수 있게 됐다. 이번 반도체 계약학과는 경기도 교육청 '미래 신산업분야 하이테크 특성화고 계약학과 운영사업(반도체 분야)'에 이천제일고가 선정돼 1학급 22명 규모로 운영되며, 차세대 융합기술연구원 및 반도체 공유대학 등을 연계해 반도체 개념 및 실험·실습 등을 교육하는 등 전문인력양성 체계를 마련할 방침이다. 그동안 시는 국가첨단산업 육성전략 및 반도체 등 첨단분야 인재양성 등 정부가 첨단산업에 대한 육성의지를 드러낼 때부터 반도체 계약학과 선정을 위해 지역 협력 체계를 구축해 다양한 활동을 펼쳐왔다. 지난 4월에는 SK하이닉스, 이천교육지원청, 한국세라믹기술원과 함께 이천제일고등학교 반도체 계약학과 신설을 위한 '반도체 인재양성 업무협약'을 체결했고, 향후 반도체 전문인력 및 실습 기자재 지원, 현장실습과 시설 이용 등에 긴밀히 협조하기로 약속했다. 또한, 지난 7월 제일고등학교 디지털전자과 3학년을 대상으로 지역-고교-대학을 연계해 반도체 제조 공정 실무교육인 반도체 기술 아
